Security and data residency
Sakneen holds a developer's inventory and its clients' personal data, so access is scoped per role and per project, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every change to a record is auditable. Data residency and retention are set per customer contract.

- Permissions are granted per role and per project, including field-level restrictions for external brokerages.
- Encryption
- Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest by the hosting platform.
- Audit trail
- Changes to price, availability, holds and reservations are recorded with actor and timestamp.
- Single sign-on
- Staff authentication can be delegated to the developer's identity provider.
- Least-privilege broker access
- A brokerage sees only the projects and fields the developer has authorized, and access is revocable.
- Separation between customers
- One developer's inventory is never readable by another, and is not used to advise another.
Data residency and retention
Where data is stored and how long it is retained are set per customer contract, including for developers with residency requirements. Request hosting, sub-processor and security documentation from your Sakneen account contact during procurement.
Personal data
Client records are processed on the developer's instructions as data processor. The data processing agreement sets out the terms, including sub-processors, breach notification and deletion on termination.
Frequently asked questions
- Where is our data hosted?
- Hosting region is set per contract. Developers with a residency requirement should raise it during procurement so it is written into the agreement rather than assumed.
- Can we revoke a brokerage's access immediately?
- Yes. Access is granted per project and takes effect — in both directions — immediately. A revoked brokerage loses inventory visibility at once, while the record of what it issued remains for audit.
- What happens to our data if we leave?
- You receive an export of your records and Sakneen deletes them on the schedule set in the data processing agreement.
